Gillette Wyoming former Sage Valley Planetarium Manager, Nello Williams, and Brian Ewenson, Challenger Learning Centers Consultant, NASA Astronaut Trainer, and former manager of an Arizona Challenger Learning Center, host this fund raising - star gazing party at the Daly Ranch, 17 miles as the 'night hawk flies,' north of the Gillette, Wyoming airport. July 2009. This fun event was one of many fund raisers for building a Challenger Learning Center and Science Center, close to the Camplex. Star gazers numbered close to 80 including approximately 20 children. 40/400 is a celebration of the 40th year anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon, and the 400th anniversary of Galileo. Galileo's first telescope is on display in Pennsylvania, and is one of the first times it has ever been out of it's home country of Italy. Star gazers also got to witness the pass over of the ISS (International Space Station) just after 10 PM with their 'naked - eyes!' Children and adults alike also got to see very clearly - Saturn through some very high powered telescopes provided by local astronomy buffs. Read full story at this link:
