Big Three Auto Should File Bankruptcy - Is it un-American to hope congress doesn't bite on this bailout bait? I don't think so. First, I think the auto industry created their own failure and should be responsible for it. I know it means the potential of hundreds of lost jobs, if not thousands. But I would like to ask this simple question: If Joe the Plumber needed $25,000 or his $250,000 business goes belly up, would the federal government hand him a check? Would it even be possible for Joe and thousands of other plumbers to even ask?
If I was able to drive on a car lot and find it full of 60 mpg cars that where not selling then I might consider this quagmire that they've gotten themselves into. Everyone on the planet knows the Big Three can make fuel efficient cars or vehicles. We have our thoughts as to why they don't, but we really don't know why they do what they do.
If they file bankruptcy then the strongest and fittest survives. This will also help the court systems kill the bad union contracts that have been pushed into that industry.
So, to voice my opinion as to supporting a bailout for the Big Three Automakers.... "No!" If that is unamerican... then ductape my ass to a dingy and ship me to the Bering Straits.
Before I close, I would like to add that the new Obama administration shouldn't be trying to negotiate with the automakers so they can implement his envoronmental plan.
